PHYSICIAN PROFILES
Franc A. Barada, Jr, MD  Dr. Barada received his medical degree from the University of Virginia. After a year of internal medicine training at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, he completed his internal medicine residency and rheumatology fellowship at the University of Virginia. Dr. Barada also served three years as the chief internist at Ft. Defrance Indian Hospital on the Navapo Reservation in Arizona. He served on the clinical faculty at Duke Medical Center before leaving to found this rheumatology practice in the Durham community in 1982. He is Board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology and continues to hol a consulting faculty position at Duke University.

Robert A. Harrell, MD  Dr. Harrell completed medical school at The Johns Hopkins University and then spent five years at Duke University Medical Center training in internal medicine and rheumatology. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both internal medicine and the subspecialty of rheumatology. He has been a member of this practice since 1985 and also holds a consulting faculty position at Duke University. Dr Harrell is the director of our clinical research program.

Anne K. Toohey, MD  

Linda R. Belhorn, MD  Dr. Belhorn received undergraduate degrees in chemistry and psychology as well as completing her medical degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She did her internal medicine residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and her rheumatology fellowship at the University of Cincinnati. She then practiced in Houston, Texas for six years and was also a clinical assistant professor at Baylor. She has been practicing in Durham since 1999. She is board certified in internal medicine and in rheumatology.
